Alum SHIRIN BOLOURCHI ’17 is part of the exhibition “Agent of ordinary pleasures”, curated by Victoria Chapman @vc_projects as part of MaidenLA from September 1-20. 2020.

MFA Interim chair ANNETTA KAPON showed her videos in WOW Babylonia, part of New Media Festival curated by Wilfried Agricola de Cologne at  TAM – Torrance Art Museum Los Angeles – August 18 – September 2, 2020

Alum TIANYI SUN ’20 is showing her work as part of Archive Machines at LAMAG from July 30 to November 1, 2020.

Alum SEAN CULLY ‘16 will be participating in this year's Los Angeles Rotterdam project (LARp). LARp pairs an artist collective from Los Angeles with one from Rotterdam. All the exhibitions have moved online onto a single website.  

Alum RACHEL WOLFE ‘15 wrote a review of MARCELA GOTTARDO’s (2014) exhibition for Arcade Project Zine July 2020:

CAMP-Center for Art on Migration Politics founders and curators, Frederikke Hansen and alum TONE OLAF NIELSEN, ‘98, will be part of the upcoming documenta 15 in Kassel, Germany.

Alum KATHRYN KERT GREEN ’16 has an exhibition at the French Consulate of California’s Residence in San Francisco The exhibition, titled However Faint and Invisible, will be on for six months, starting August 25, 2020.

Alum SHIVA ALIABADI ’14 is in the exhibition "Personal Contacts" at Durden & Ray from Aug. 1- Oct 17, 2020 curated by Gul Cagin. She will be interviewed live at 7pm PST on August 3rd for this exhibit on Instagram  @durdenandray. ALIABADI also earned a Snowfarm residency for August and September 2020. She has an at Wassaic Project online: Now, more than ever from July 1 - September 19, 2020

Alum SHIVA ALIABADI ‘14  has a catalogue for her exhibition called Abshar: Cascade (first installed at Fine Art Complex 1101) as well as some of her recent works is out. Essay by critic Grant Vetter.

Alum SRIJON CHOWDHURY’s ’13 Chicken COOP had a CLOSING RECEPTION for CCC MMXX: fseih* on Saturday, 23rd of May.  This exhibition, which opened on April 18th, consists of a trailer for a film by alum ANDREAS GUREWICH.

MFA Interim Chair ANNETTA KAPON, professor RENÉE PETROPOULOS, alum YRNEH GABON ’17 and grads SHARON BARNES, MIRENA KIM and XIOUPING participated in DRIVE-BY ART  Organized by Warren Neidich, RENEE PETROPOULOS, Michael Slenske and Anuradha Vikram. East Los Angeles exhibited on MAY 23rd-25th, 2020 and West Los Angeles exhibited on MAY 30th-31st, 2020.

Alum JOE SOLA ‘99 was featured in "Art Reality Studio arms artists with VR gear and asks: What if?" (April 25, 2020):

Grad MARIA LAURA HENDRIX ’20 is in a group show at the Museum of Ventura County titled Legacy, Seventy Years of Ventura College Art, March 6 -April 26, 2020.

CMAY gallery presented Double Take, a group exhibition featuring nine Los Angeles- based artists who are known for their figurative work that observes the human psychology.  MFA faculty JUDIE BAMBER was included. February 29 – April 4, 2020.

Grads ALLY WALLACE and MIGUEL HERNANDEZ earned fellowships for workshops at  Anderson Ranch in Colorado for Summer 2021. 

Alums YRNEH GABON ’17 and FRIDA LI have been invited to participate in the Dakar Biennale in Senegal May 28 to June 28, 2020.

Alum KRISTIN MOORE ’16 is on the Saatchi Art list of 20 Artists to Watch in 2020:  MOORE was also in The Other Art Fair in Los Angeles in April 2020. 

Alum JOE SOLA ’99 will show in: In Production: Art and the Studio System at Yuz Museum, Shanghai Nov. 7 2019 – March 1, 2020

MFA Faculty KADE TWIST with the art collective Postcommodity is showing The Point of Final Collapse, a new sound installation at San Francisco Art Institute (SFAI) from November 15, 2019 until the Millennium Tower is fixed or torn down.
