Alum JANET DANDRIDGE’S ’16 musical group The Milky Way will play at The Satellite in Silverlake, Los Angeles on Monday, February 5, 2018 | 9pm.

Grad ROBERT BEGLEY has his MFA exhibition Consolation in the Bolsky Gallery from February 5 TO 11, 2018.

Alum MATT MACFARLAND ’03 is showing his work Heroes and Villains at the Sam Francis Gallery of Crossroads School, Santa Monica, from January 29 to February 8, 2018.

Alum ED GOMEZ ’03 showed his work in the Durden and Ray group exhibition Inverted Realities at McNish Gallery, Oxnard College from January 31to February 28 2018.

Alum OK YOUNG CHOI ’16 showed her work in a solo exhibition From my Table to your Beach at Palais de Seoul, Korea, from January 23 to 28, 2018

Alum SRIJON CHOWDHURY’S ’13 Chicken Coop Contemporary showed Revelation Theater featuring alums ALEC EGAN and ANDREAS GUREWICH (Chicken Coup Contemporary) from January 28 to March 1 in Portland Oregon. The exhibition is part of Endings, an exhibition of work by SRIJON CHOWDHURY and Bobbi Woods at the Art Gym, Portland, Oregon.

Alum CHRIS ROWLAND ’00 was editor of the documentary film Face of a Nation, official selection of the Sonoma International Film Festival 2018. In December 2017 ROWLAND organized the Cardboard Chair Exhibit with his students at Victor Valley Community College which was highlighted in the Daily Press on December 23, 2017.

MFA Fine Arts Assistant Chair ANNETTA KAPON will participate in the group exhibition Every (ongoing) Day at Arena 1 Gallery at Santa Monica Airport from March 17 to April 14, 2018.

MFA Fine Arts Professor BENJAMIN WEISSMAN is showing his work in The Pit II with Ravi Jackson from January 7 - February 18, 2018.

Alum MATTHEW WARREN ’09 has originated Paper8, a new flagship clothing store featuring his drawings in downtown Los Angeles.

Alum ALEX KROLL ’08 has a solo exhibition, My Lips are Blue for You, from January 13 to February 24, 2018 at Praz-Delavallade Gallery Los Angeles.

Alum JACOB MELCHI’s ’03 project space in Highland Park, LA is called Jacob's. The first show will be Saturday, January 6th, 2018, presenting paintings by LA based artist Spencer Carmona in the garden.

MFA Fine Arts CHAIR ROY DOWELL, Assistant Chair ANNETTA KAPON and MFA Fine Arts Professor RENEE PETROPOULOS will participate in the group exhibition Grâce au dessin at Art Mur gallery in Montreal, Canada from March 3 to April 28, 2018.

Alum YVONNE BEATTY’S ‘99 "Bel Canto Dream," will be included in the national Women's Caucus for Art Exhibition, Art Speaks! Lend Your Voice, at Arena 1 Gallery, Santa Monica Art Studios from February 22 through March 10, 2018.

Alum SHIVA ALIABADI ’14 showed her work in the group exhibition that opened December 8th at the Kunstraum Dreieich Gallery in Dreieich, Germany. It was called Peace Love and Light and ran until January 8, 2018.

Alum SRIJON CHOWDHURY’S ’13 gallery Chicken Coop Contemporary showed A Divine Image by André Fortes & Harry Gould Harvey IV from November 11 to January 10, 2018 in Portland, OR.

Brand Library & Art Center presented ONE YEAR: The Art of Politics in Los Angeles. Conceived and organized by Joey Forsyte, alum LAWRENCE GIPE ’86 and Alex Kritselis, ONE YEAR features the work of MFA alums LAWRENCE GIPE ‘86, and KEIKO FUKAZAWA '86. From November 18, 2017 to January 12, 2018.

ALUM JOAN LAUGHLIN ’02 had a one-person exhibition Entanglement at Galveston Art Center (1878 Gallery) from November 25 2017 to January 7, 2018.

GPP Alum RAUL BALTAZAR ’13 will participate in A Decolonial Atlas: Strategies in Contemporary Art of the Americas at Tufts University Museum in Boston from January 16 to April 15, 2018. BALTAZAR will conclude Pacific Standard Time: LA/LA, with a performance at the art festival called “Pacific Standard Time Festival: Live Art LA/LA.” BALTAZAR will present his piece My Sereno: Two Ritual Performances Honoring Our Past, Present, and Future Generations over two Sundays in January 2018

Alum REGINE RODE ’16 was selected by ENSAPC (PARIS, CERGY) for a residency from February 1 to April 30, 2018.
