MFA Fine Arts Professor RENEE PETROPOULOS won the 2018-19 Artist Fellowship Award from the Santa Monica Cultural Affairs Department.

Alum CHRIS OATEY ’06 showed his work in Carbon at the Gallery of the Fellows of Contemporary Art in Los Angeles from May 19 to July 20, 2018. Curated by artist Lauren Kasmer.

Alum LARKIN HIGGINS’ 95 “Parking Lot Lines” was published in Propositional Attitudes: What Do We Do Now? Golden Spike Press, paper-published edited by John Burtle and Elana Mann (ISBN-13: 978-1-7320180-1-3). On April 21, she gave a poetry reading as participant in “Dusie Presents”, New Orleans Poetry Festival, New Orleans, Louisiana. Her artist books (poetry & art) were also on display at NOPF Book Fair, New Orleans, April 19-22, 2018.

Alum AMANDA KATZ’S ’14 Bookshelves is showing Ann Harezlak’s installation for reading, reanimating, and re-categorizing at 3307 W Washington Blvd through June 30th, 2018.

Alum ED GOMEZ ’03 Brian Thomas Jones curated the exhibition Emulations including the work of ED GOMEZ at MuseumM in Los Angeles from May 5 to 17, 2018. GOMEZ was also part of KÁN at Durden and Ray Gallery from May 5 to 26, 2018.

Alum AYSTYN DE LUGO ’17 took part in the group exhibition And/Or at The Deep End Club in Los Angeles from May 5 to 12, 2018.

Alum RACHEL WOLFE ’15 had an interview on King Goya Magazine and took up the photography conversation with Wouter Van de Voorde on a A New Nothing. She also produced an Art Box with Fransastic The exhibition is planned for September 2018. WOLFE also had 3 photos exhibited at Cyan Studio in Oslo from April 27 to May 12, 2018.

Grads CELIA ROCHA (Maternal Matters) and LAUREN VAZQUEZ (Subject (Re)Formation) had their MFA Thesis exhibitions at the Bolsky Gallery from April 30 to May 7, 2018

Alum BARRY OSBOURN ’08 had a one-person exhibition neoconstruct new work at Gallery V in Overland Park, KS from June 8 to July 16, 2018.

Alum BRYAN RICCI ’12 has a solo exhibition Farsickness opening on April 29 at Mama Lion LA, curated by Jane Lee from Aesthetic Platform.

Alum SABINE DEHNEL ’03 is participating in the group exhibition LADIES FIRST at Galerie 2106 Ravensburg, Germany, from August 18 to September 26, 2018. She will also be Artist In Residence for 2018 at Museum Kunst der Westküste, Föhr. Coming up is also DOUBT AT THE TERM OF TRUTH at Galerie Schmalfuß, Berlin, from June 2 to 20, 2018.

Alum RANDI GANULIN ’96 installed “Arterial,” at Amazon in downtown Seattle, part of Shunpike’s Storefronts project. She also exhibited ten “Paired Disaster” pieces at Blue Sky Gallery Photography Viewing Drawers in Portland through March 2019.

Alum KRISTIN MOORE ’17 has a painting in a group show called “Excavations; Shindig” at Mantle Art Space in San Antonio TX from April 20 - May 5.
