Otis College #4 in Money Magazine's Best Value-Added Colleges

Otis College Ranks #4 Best Value-Added
Only Art and Design College to make the new list

In its annual college rankings, Money has ranked Otis College of Art and Design #4 on its "The 50 Colleges That Add the Most Value" list and 219th overall, making the independent art and design college the second highest ranking art and design college and within the top 10% of all colleges and universities ranked.

Publications such as Money, The Wall Street Journal, and The Economist have embraced a new method of evaluating college and university programs that emphasize comparative long-term benefits such as alumni earnings and student loan repayment. "What’s impressive is when a college helps students do far better than would be expected from their academic and economic backgrounds," Money says of its Best Value-Added College list.

“We’re thrilled to be ranked fourth, and the only art and design college, on Money’s new ranking. It’s recognition that our continued focus on student success helps our graduates succeed. As the creative economy continues to grow, it’s affirming to receive this recognition that Otis College prepares our graduates for successful futures,” said President Bruce W. Ferguson.

The shift towards focusing on student success has seen the college rise in recent rankings and become more widely known as the leading educator for the creative economy. In addition to the new Money ranking, Otis College was the third-highest ranking art and design college and 200th overall in the Wall Street Journal / Times Higher Education listing and was ranked sixth in the nation by The Economist, the only art and design school to rank in their top ten.

Other Association of Independent Colleges of Art and Design (AICAD) members included in the Money ranking are Art Center College of Design (174), Rhode Island School of Design (521), California College of the Arts (532), and Maryland Institute College of Art (664), among others. For a full listing of the rankings, visit http://time.com/money/best-colleges/rankings/best-colleges/.
