Otis College Joins It’s On Us Campaign

Official Partner School of the It's On Us Campus Innovation Program

Otis College of Art and Design is excited to announce that it has become an official partner with It’s On Us, a national campaign aimed at changing the culture surrounding campus sexual assault. As a proud It’s On Us Campus Innovation Partner School, the College commits to upholding and implementing the three pillars of the It’s On Us campaign: support for survivors of sexual violence, bystander intervention, and consent education.

“Otis College is committed to addressing sexual violence through education, prevention, and advocacy. We are proud to join the It’s On Us campaign. It’s an important step in proactively and positively empowering students to help end sexual violence,” said President Bruce W. Ferguson.

The Campus Innovation Program goal is to amplify the work that is already being done by students and administrators across the nation, and to help institutions implement and organize sustainable change. Through this program Otis College will be working directly with the It’s On Us staff and student leaders to create sustainable and institutionalized change on our campus.

“We’re excited to launch our partnership with our ‘It’s On Us Campus Innovation Partner Schools’ and collaborate more directly with campus administrators,” said Rebecca Kaplan, director of It’s On Us. “This program will spark innovation and highlight institutions that are taking creative approaches to prevention education.”

To help in this effort, a Sexual Assault Prevention Collective will be formed at Otis College with student, faculty, and staff representation. If you are interested in serving on this collective, please send an email stating your interest to Carol D. Branch, Ph.D., Title IX Coordinator, at To be considered for the collective, please submit your email by December 5 at 5pm. Those selected to serve on the Collective will be notified by email by December 9.

Over the next year, It’s On Us will continue to build infrastructure across the movement to ensure that students feel safe and supported across campuses. The campaign will also expand the organization’s work outside of the campus environment and into the national conversation around ending rape culture.

About It’s On Us

It's On Us is a cultural movement aimed at fundamentally shifting the way we think and talk about sexual assault. It's a rallying cry, inviting everyone to step up and realize that the solution begins with us. Launched in September 2014, It’s On Us works to educate, engage, and empower students and communities across the country to do something, big or small, to end sexual assault. The campaign has three core pillars – consent education, increasing bystander intervention, and creating an environment that supports survivors. Over 380,000 people have taken the It’s On Us pledge online. Students have hosted over 1,700 It’s On Us events on 534 campuses nationwide. Join the movement at
