The Open Reading Period Runs Through November 30

Otis Books is accepting unsolicited manuscripts during the month of November. The press publishes works of contemporary fiction, non-fiction, and poetry, with a special interest in translations and writings from and about Los Angeles. There is no reading fee and both established and unpublished writers are welcome to submit. Manuscripts of poetry, fiction, or non-fiction, in the English original or in translation will be considered, visit the Otis Books submission page for manuscript requirements and the notification timeline.

Otis Books is the publication project of the Otis College MFA Writing Program and students are involved in all aspects of the press’ activities, from selecting and editing manuscripts to designing books, managing production, and getting published titles out into the world.
