The Fashion Design Residency is a ten-day residential program for aspiring and active fashion designers to explore the limits of their creativity and design identity. The residency, led by Amy Bond, Project Runway Contestant Season 16, will use a non-traditional approach to fashion design, supported with multimedia presentations, guest speakers, field trips, and more. Participants will have full access to Otis College's advanced production studios. Through in-studio projects, participants will create a direction, then illustrate, fabricate, and construct. The program will go beyond the traditional workshop and provide an immersive and art-focused approach to fashion design.

The residency will take place from May 21 through May 30, 2018 at Otis College of Art and Design. The new, extended deadline for applications is March 1, 2018. There is a $20 application fee.

Amy Bond is a contemporary women’s wear designer inspired by Fine Art and the changing cultural landscape. She believes in leaps of faith, and her most recent one found her on Project Runway; experimenting with the materials and skills she began at Stephens College while earning a BFA. Gigs in Couture Bridal followed, and then the first big leap in 1999 to Los Angeles and to her own collection. Many clients and a flagship store at One Colorado in Pasadena soon filled the landscape. From design and manufacturing the path of education reemerged and landed Amy at the Academy of Art University to complete her MFA; and now on to creating and generating fashion exploration in all its many forms.
Jen DM is originally from New York and currently and lives in Los Angeles with her dog, Charlie Salvatore. She is the lead singer of electro pop duo, Hi Fashion. Hi Fashion are an American electronic duo, consisting of Jen DM and Rick Gradone. The band’s music features electronic, upbeat pop songs, many with ironic and humorous lyrics. DM and Gradone are both originally from New York but both are now based in Los Angeles. Currently, Hi Fashion has released two Eps, their debut, “Sprechen Sie Hi Fashion?” and 2013 follow up "You Are Gorgeous." The band's style is most noted in their music videos for their singles, demonstrating a lavish and outlandish fashion style, also strongly mirrored in their live performances. Many of the clothing items are made by the band themselves.
