Each year, OTIS College of Art and Design's graduating Architecture/Landscape/Interiors (A/L/I) seniors design and build a full-scale spatial environment in their final semester of study.

2011 A/L/I seniors (Lusine Dallakyan, Leah Daschbach, Barbara Indelicato, Justin Kang, Justine Kim, Cristina Luna, April Osterhues, Zhivar Tahmasebi Afshar and Sam Tanis) designed, fabricated and installed The BIG BANG BARCODE in Otis’ North Building. The BIG BANG BARCODE consisted of alternating opaque and backlit panels that were connected at various oblique angles in a continuous but jagged line, i.e., a “blown-up” barcode. The panels surrounded an uninhabitable interior to form a very large, indiscernible figure.
