In Fall 2015 I received a Faculty Development Grant in support of Publication for an Industrial Designers Society of America (IDSA) 2015 Education Symposium Education Paper. ... My 2015 paper argues for the importance of PLAY in “Discovering and Shaping New Contexts— especially the kind that drives innovation in design education and design thinking.” As an interdisciplinary instructor in Creative Action, Product Design and ACT, I bring a special viewpoint. This paper examines a unique pedagogical position that can only be expressed by interdisciplinary work.
