Summer 2017 Registration Process

To Register - Log into Self Service; please follow each step in sequence!

Step 1: Advisement
  • See your Major Department Advisor to be advised and receive your Alternate Pin number for Online Registration.
  • See Academic Advising Coordinator  (Room 204C, AHMN) for questions regarding your Liberal Arts and Sciences (LAS) Courses.

Step 2: Financial Aid
  • To view your financial aid award, go to www.otis.edu/selfservice and select the Financial Aid Tab.  
  • Click on "Award" then "Award by Aid Year", select "Current Aid Year" then submit.
  • To view your financial aid requirements and holds, click on Financial Aid Tab, then "Eligibility" to view Student Requirements and Financial Aid Holds.

Step 3: Check Holds
  • Select Student Records Tab and "View Holds".
  • Contact the appropriate department to have your holds removed.
  • All holds on your account must be removed BEFORE you can register online.
  • Please view the Student Hold Guide for more information on your holds.
  • To remove your "Enrollment Agreement  Hold", go to step 5.
 

Step 4: Emergency Contact

 

  • Go to Self Service, login and select the Personal Information Tab, click Emergency Notification Phone Number, this must be done every semester to remove your "EN Hold" for the semester. Click on "Updated Emergency Contacts", enter the requested information, then submit.
  • You are required to enter at least one emergency contact person, but may enter more than one.
 
Step 5: Enrollment Agreement Form

 

  • All students MUST sign the Otis Enrollment Agreement online.
  • Select the Student Records Tab.
  • Click "Sign your Enrollment Agreement" then click "Select a Term".
  • Here you will electronically sign your Summer Otis Enrollment Agreement by entering your student ID number.
  • Once you have successfully signed your Enrollment Agreement, your Enrollment Agreement hold is automatically removed.
 
Step 6: Payment Deadline May 15th

To check your Tuition Balance in Otis Self Service

  • Select the Student Records Tab, to view your Summer 2017 Tuition Statement.
  • To make a payment: Click the Student Records Tab, select the "Student Account/Payments/Charges/History" option and "Make Payment" link to pay by Electronic Check (no fee) or Credit Card (2.75% fee).
  • Payments by phone are not accepted.
  • Payments must be finalized by May 15, 2017 or students will be dropped from their classes.

Step 7: Online Registration April 10th through May 12th

Monday-Friday
5 am to 10 pm

  • Student  not familiar with online registration process, please start by viewing the Online Registration Tutorial.
  • Summer Students register Online Monday, April 10th through May 12.
  • To register online go to Self Service, Login and select the Registration Tab. Click on "Select Term" use Summer 2017 from drop down menu. Submit, then select "Add / Drop Classes". 
  • Enter the "Alternate Pin" you received on your Advisement Form or Degree Evaluation Form from your Advisor.
  • Any schedule changes after May 12th must be done In-Person with an Add/Drop Form signed by your department chair

FULL-TIME STATUS

  • Undergraduate students must be registered for 12 credits to be considered as a "Full-Time" student
  • Graduate students must be registered for 9 credits to be considered as a "Full-Time" student
  • Failure to register as a "Full-Time" student can jeopardize your Financial Aids/Grants, Scholarships and Loans
  • Students who register for more than 18 credits will be charged the "per credit charge" for each credit over 18 credits.

IMPORTANT NOTICE

 If, after your best efforts, there are extenuating circumstances that prevent you from registering before the registration deadline please contact Laura Kiralla,  Vice President for Student Success and Dean of Student Affairs: student@otis.edu or (310)665-6960, well before the deadline to discuss your situation.

 

DO NOT REGISTER FOR THE FALL SEMESTER

  • Your Registration for the Fall Semester will be the week of July 10th through July 21nd.


Summer Undergraduate Classes begin Monday, May 22th.
Summer Graduate Graphic Design Classes begin Monday, June 12th.


Once you have registered, double check your schedule carefully. Please review your class schedule the week before classes begin, in case your classes have changed or cancelled.
