Chaz Inouye ('17 Product Design) Inouye was one of six finalists in the first-ever Under Armor Design Future Show. Only selected students from various design schools were invited to participate in this unique competition. The students were selected for their design and creative capabilities and received mentoring from Under Armor designers and presented their final concepts at the Under Armor world headquarters in Baltimore.
Bright green postcards and the toothy grin of a monster truck announced the 2017 Annual Exhibition, which will open to the public this Saturday, May 13. The bright, detailed model of the featured monster truck puppet, or CryptoTruck, was the highlight of Monique Givens' ('16 Toy Design) own display at last year's Annual Exhibition.
Renowned architect Thom Mayne will address the Class of 2017 and guests at Otis College of Art and Design's Commencement ceremony on Sunday May 14, 2017. Mayne is one of the world's leading architects with projects around the globe and over forty years experience contributing to leading academic institutions and the study of architecture. He will receive an honorary degree from Otis College at the event.
Otis College of Art and Design is exhibiting at Printed Matter’s L.A. Art Book Fair 2017 this weekend, February 24 – February 26, 2017. Held at The Geffen Contemporary at the Museum of Contemporary Art (MOCA), the fair is a unique event for artists’ books, art catalogs, monographs, periodicals, and zines presented by over 300 international presses, booksellers, antiquarians, artists, and independent publishers.
Kour Pour ('10 Painting) was named to Forbes' 2017 '30 Under 30 Europe: The Arts' list. Of British-Iranian decent, Pour's work explores the social and cultural connections between western and eastern cultures. His work has been exhibited in Los Angeles, New York, Berlin, Dublin, Naples, and Hong Kong.
As the college continues to roll-out updates to the main campus, one of the newest features provides an opportunity to spotlight artwork from the Otis College community. New banners on the campus and Lincoln Boulevard create more spaces to highlight student work.
LOS ANGELES, CA – Otis College of Art and Design is pleased to announce the launch of a new residency program to take place from June 4 - 25, 2017. The L.A. Summer Residency at Otis College of Art and Design offers an opportunity for artists and designers to work side-by-side in an immersive three-week residency within the vibrant art and design community of Los Angeles.
