Otis College of Art and Design Announces Donation from the Spiegel Family Fund to Help Students from the Class of 2022 Repay their Loans

Otis College of Art and Design is honored to receive a significant donation from KORA Organics CEO Miranda Kerr and Snap Inc. CEO Evan Spiegel through the Spiegel Family Fund. The donation will allow for the repayment of the outstanding student debt of students in the graduating Class of 2022.

Otis College Announces Artist Lauren Halsey as 2021 Commencement Speaker

Otis College of Art and Design is excited to announce that Los Angeles-born and based artist and activist, Lauren Halsey, will be receiving an honorary degree and delivering the 2021 commencement address this May. While Halsey’s work has been shown and installed at such venues as the Hammer Museum and the Museum of Contemporary Art, it has been her more recent community work in South L.A. that has been keeping her busy. 

Otis College Alumna Dawn Baillie (BFA ’86) Gifts Class of 2020 with Heartfelt, Personal Gesture

Dawn Baillie as an Otis College undergraduate student.It was midway through the 1985-86 school year when Dawn Baillie graduated from Otis College with her BFA degree. She had finished all her required credits and couldn’t afford to stay an extra semester to graduate with the rest of her classmates in the Spring (however, she would return for the commencement ceremony).

Otis College Commencement Sends Forth New Artists and Designers

Otis College of Art and Design graduated another class of talented creatives on Sunday, May 12, 2019, at the Marsee Auditorium at El Camino College. The ceremony was overseen by Interim President Randy Lavender and Interim Provost Kim Russo and featured a commencement speech by MacArthur “Genius” grant and award-winning choreographer, performer, and author, Elizabeth Streb. Streb received an honorary degree alongside Otis College alumnus and artist, Gajin Fujita. 

Artist Mark Bradford to Give 2018 Commencement Address

Renowned Los Angeles-based artist Mark Bradford will address the Class of 2018 and receive an honorary degree at Otis College of Art and Design's Commencement Ceremony on Sunday, May 13, 2018 at noon. Rosemary Brantley, retired Founding Chair of the Fashion Design Department, will also be recognized at the ceremony with an honorary degree.
