America's Mona Lisa?

Communication Arts: Illustration faculty member Kim De Marco kicked off the holiday season with a visit to the White House. President Obama invited her to the "Thanksgivukkah" celebration, honoring her poster design, an update of Grant Wood's iconic "American Gothic." Kim worked with Boston marketing specialist Dana Gitell, who coined the phrase "Thanksgivukkah" to celebrate the joint holidays.
She explains, "I liked the idea of a mash-up, and that's a lot of what this holiday is about. (Grant Wood's painting) is like the American equivalent of the Mona Lisa."
