Combining Art Forms to Create the Perfect Toy

"I love that every single major here is art but it’s all a different type of art. So when we come together, we all have different interests but we kind of overlap in some ways, I think that’s beautiful," says Clover Clemans (BFA Toy Design '17). "I have to say one of the biggest things that I have learned at Otis is to get inspiration from everywhere. You have to look to other places and get inspired by many other people." 

Charlotte Hitz: Making Joyful Experiences

Since its founding in 1972, The Group has worked to fund scholarships for deserving students of Otis College of Art and Design. The awardees met with members of The Group and presented examples of their work at The Group's Annual Scholarship Luncheon on February 16, 2017. One student from each of the seven undergraduate disciplines is chosen for the scholarship, and each week, we'll be highlighting a different awardee as we countdown to the 2017 Commencement Ceremony. 

 

Alumna Dawn Marshall is First Winner of JazWings Toy Design Incubator

Dawn Marshall’s ('16 Toy Design) idea, Funky Fros, could now be made a reality by Jazwares.

JazWings, the idea incubator platform within Jazwares, has detailed the winner of the first JazWings Student Programme.

The programme saw toy design students from the Otis College of Art and Design submit ideas that could then be brought to life by Jazwares.

Toy Design Junior Min Kim Receives Women in Toys Scholarship

Min Kim, a Juinor in the Toy Design program, recently received a scholarship from the Women in Toys Foundation (WIT)WIT awards scholarships to outstanding, young women and future industry leaders currently seeking degrees in a wide array of toy design programs.
