Travel Study: Brazil 2014 presented students with information about and unique experiences within two major urban centers of Brazil: Brasilia, the modern (60’s) fully-planned city and Capital of Brazil, and Rio de Janeiro, with its extant Imperial and Colonial fabric, modern and contemporary architecture (including new architecture in Copacabana in anticipation of the the 2016 Olympics), as well as favelas (slums).

Students enrolled for credit in the associated course, Brazilian Urbanism and its Future, or participated in the tour only, for no credit.

 

The Program Fee included all transportation to and within Brazil, accommodations (3-star hotels), scheduled excursions and activities, breakfasts, tour guides and lectures, site entrance fees, international health insurance, and bilingual Brazilian guides 24/7.
