Building on our relationships with designers in the Netherlands and Belgium, we will visit graphic design studios, attend workshops, visit cultural locations, attend an international design conference and interface with Belgian MFA students. Students will be exposed to different ways of working and will be able to explore their practices through the lens of Belgian and Dutch design.
Over the course of two weeks in five European cities (Amsterdam, Antwerp, Gent, Rotterdam, and Utrecht), MFA Graphic Design students will attend: studio visits, museum tours, workshops, an international symposium, and give three presentations to select audiences.
Upon returning from the European excursion, students will be held accountable for completing a two-week “off-site” project. In order that students receive all 7.5 credits for their required mentorship, students full participation in Belgium and Holland as well as the completion of the “off-site” independent project will be necessary.
