Aesthetics in Present Future

The Arts and the Technological Horizen

Congratulations to faculty members Adam Berg, editor (LAS/IL), and colleagues in Liberal Arts and Sciences Ysamur Flores Pena and Rob Spruijt, on the recent publication of  Aesthetics in Present Future: The Arts and the Technological Horizon, a collection of essays by specialized scholars and artists on how deeply the arts change and are sometimes diffused when conveyed by the new media (web; 3D printers, video). The scope of the topics range from photography to cinema and painting, from theatre to avant-garde art and net art, and construction of robots and simulation of brain functions. The result is an astonishing range of new possibilities for the arts and new perspectives regarding our knowledge of the world.
