Each year, Otis College of Art and Design's graduating Architecture/Landscape/Interiors (A/L/I) seniors design and build a full-scale spatial environment in their final semester of study.

2012 A/L/I seniors (Melissah Bridge, Stefanie Cheng, ChiChi Chen, Hokulea Chu, Case Fleher, Salome Karanja, Kendy Li, Nagmeh Mir, Charity Mugasha, Khanh Nguyen, Collin Rigg, Brooke Walker and Gunawan Wibisono) designed, fabricated and installed The BIG CHEESE in Otis' North Building. Students' studio projects were displayed via back-lit prints and physical models mounted within voids of various sizes and shapes. The BIG CHEESE consisted of individual L-shaped wall assemblies, with voids, constructed of painted birch plywood panels over three layers of lightweight steel framing. The middle frames held internal light fixtures that illuminated both sides of the walls.
