Alumnus Carlyle Nuera Designs New Barbie Doll

Alumnus Carlyle Nuera (’10) debuts his first doll for The Barbie™ Collection - the Mutya™ Barbie® Doll, which is part of the Global Glamour Collection.
 
Nuera has also designed  the Fashionistas® and So In Style® lines, as well as stunning OOAKs like Barbie® Loves Adam Lambert and Haute Hiver Barbie® and has created fashion packs, including for Ken® doll. 

Otis at the 2014 AICAD Symposium

Distinguished Otis faculty and staff participated in the 2014 Association of Independent Colleges of Art and Design (AICAD) Symposium, "New Paradigms 2.0: Art and Design as Collaborative Action," held at Columbus College of Art and Design in Ohio. 
 
Interim President Kerry Walk, Acting Provost Randy Lavender, and Special Projects Coordinator Meg Linton attended, along with faculty and staff members who gave presentations as part of the symposium program.

The Marks Project: Joan Takayama-Ogawa

Joan Takayama-Ogawa

Product Design Faculty Joan Takayama-Ogawa has been identified by The Marks Project as one of the top 50 American Ceramic Artists, which requires Joan to document the artist signature throughout her career for future authentication. 

The Dictionary of American Studio Ceramic Makers and Their Marks, an on line searchable database, will document the marks of makers working in America from 1946 to the present.
