Drawing on the Right Side of the Brain

Stimulate your creative brain and sharpen your powers of perception to develop and refine your drawing skills. In this hands-on workshop, students achieve the ability to draw by learning and practicing the Perceptual Skills outlined in Betty Edwards renown book Drawing on the Right Side of the Brain. The course begins with an introduction to Edwards’ theory and follows a process, step-by-step, specifically designed for individuals who have never drawn before or for those who want to improve upon their drawing skills. The focus will be on Perceptual Skills that encompass contour line, positive/negative space, sighting relationships, Light/Shadow and the “Gestalt.” These skills are presented in an attentive and supportive environment through lectures and drawing exercises.
