Introduction to Graphic Design

Every aspect—layout, typography and symbols, photography, illustration,—comes together to send a message, tell a story, or distinguish a brand. Through weekly hands-on assignments and in-depth interactive discussions, students are introduced to a wide variety of topics in graphic design. Students explore the fundamentals of visual communication through the.e exploration of composition, color, and typography. Also covered are creative methodologies, the story of graphic design, and career options in the commercial arts. This is an excellent course to start building a professional graphic design portfolio. Students can complete their assignments using their own computer or traditional analog techniques.

Prerequisite: None

Materials List: Sharpie (or writing instruments) & sketchbook
