Bio and Affiliation
Masato co-runs Happening Studio with his partner Karen. Their studio mantra is to find an intersection between various binaries such as print and digital, learning and teaching, and commercial and non-profit clients. He has taught and led workshops on typography, prototyping, and coding at CalArts, Otis College of Art and Design, Rhode Island School of Design, College of the Canyons, and Temple University Japan. The studio has worked with NASA Ames Research Center, Getty Research Institution, Sundance Film Festival, and Museum of Contemporary Art San Diego. His work has been recognized by LACMA, Museum of Contemporary Art Chicago, Idea Magazine, It's Nice That, and Fast Company. Masato comes from Japan by way of Switzerland.
