After Thanksgiving break, Foundation students are invited to login to the Foundation Forward Nest course. This self-guided course features eight major, minor, and areas of emphasis units that will help prepare Foundation students to declare their Major and for a smooth transition to your sophomore year at Otis College of Art and Design. Through the informational units, Foundation students will gain knowledge to make an informed decision when declaring a Major in February. Students will also be able to explore opportunities to connect with Foundation Forward Ambassadors, who are current students in each department at Otis in addition to Department Chairs and Faculty.

At the beginning of spring semester, the Foundation Forward Departmental Meetings / Info-Gathering sessions give Foundation students additional time to meet with the Chairs, Directors, faculty and students of each of the Majors and the Minors.

Students declare their Major in February.  Students may also pursue a Minor by entering one of the Majors and taking a number of elective courses outside the Major.
