Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Programs at Otis College
Otis College is committed to fostering a diverse and inclusive community, and the College has developed marquee programs related to DEIB. These programs are student-centered, and are meant to develop a stronger sense of belonging while also empowering the next generation of creatives. The Black Creatives Institute was created in 2020, and the BIPOC Student Summit was created in 2021. We invite you to read more about these programs below:
Otis College’s Black Creatives Institute is focused on developing an inclusive and affirming campus climate for incoming Black-identified students in an effort to increase student engagement, first- to second-year retention, and degree completion.
BIPOC Student Summit is committed to creating a community space for Black, Indigenous, People of Color (BIPOC) to connect around shared or similar identities, while addressing the realities of being a person of color within the creative industry.
DEIB Staff Education and Engagement
The Office of diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging works with Human Resources and Development to provide staff development opportunities specific to DEIB content, in order to help staff grow in their knowledge, awareness, and skill around DEIB education and engagement. JEDI Innovation Fund offers a way for student organizations, staff, and faculty to create and develop innovative and grassroots efforts to support our college-wide commitment to DEIB through various programs and initiatives.
