Scholarships

Similar to grants, scholarships are free money that does not need to be repaid.

Otis College Scholarships

Otis scholarships are awarded to students beginning with their incoming term and are based on both academic and artistic merit as demonstrated in your admissions application. Scholarships start at $7,000 per year and go up to 50% of tuition costs. Students who have the highest academic and artistic merit are awarded the Otis Presidential Scholarship.  Students will be notified of their Otis Scholarship in their acceptance letter, as well as their Financial Aid Offer letter, and must accept their award on the Otis Financial Aid Dashboard.

The scholarships are tuition specific, non-refundable and renewable each year. The number of semesters depends on the student's academic level/number of transferred units determined during the admission process. Students must keep above a 2.0 Cumulative GPA and remain enrolled full-time (12 units for BFA and 8 units for MFA) each semester.

Otis Continuing Student Scholarships and Named Scholarships

Named Scholarships are funded thanks to the generosity of donors like Nike, Guess, Z Supply, the Ahmanson Foundation and many other individuals and organizations who believe in the value of an Otis College education. Thanks to their commitment to assist our students, many continuing students benefit from additional scholarship funding. This program is currently available for continuing students to apply for in the spring term. Preference is given to students with a 3.0 or higher GPA who demonstrate financial need. Some scholarships have specific requirements like enrollment in a certain major, minor or veteran status. Contact the One Stop with any questions about the continuing student application process at onestop@otis.edu.

Outside Scholarships

Students can search for outside scholarships to apply for through various search engines. In addition, students are encouraged to speak with guidance counselors, local groups and organizations they may already be affiliated with and parents' employers to see if scholarship funding may be available to them. Students should evaluate applications critically and always be mindful of possible scams. Students should never pay to apply for a scholarship.
