Patricia Kovic’s extensive experience includes senior design positions with Knoll International and McGraw Hill Publishing. Her list of clients includes Swatch, Polo Ralph Lauren, New York Life, Prescriptives and IBM.
Ms. Kovic is part of the creative team at Facility, a brand and design consultancy in Los Angeles, as well as a Professor at Otis College of Art and Design, where she focuses on a successful interdisciplinary teaching practice through the Product Design, Artist Community and Teaching and Creative Action programs. She is lead faculty for the Creative Action course NEIGHBORGAPBRIDGE, which received the Design Ignites Change Award, given to designers and architects who want to make a difference. Ms. Kovic was awarded the Teaching Artist in Residence at the Skirball Cultural Center, in conjunction with the Library of Congress exhibition “Creating the United States.”
At Otis, Ms. Kovic focuses on an interdisciplinary teaching practice in Product Design, Communication Arts, and Creative Action/Integrated Learning Program where she serves as the lead faculty for NEIGHBOR/ GAP/ BRIDGE, an experimental teaching laboratory. In 2012, Ms. Kovic was awarded the Teaching Artist in Residence at the Skirball Cultural Center, in conjunction with the Library of Congress exhibition "Creating the United States." She enjoys reimagining design education and most recently presented her ideas at the 2015 AICAD Symposium. Her writing about future models for design education are published in both the 2014 and 2015 IDSA Educational Gallery.
