Bio and Affiliation

Tiffany Lin is an interdisciplinary artist working at the cross section of illustration, social practice, and performance. Her varied projects parse through social conventions at odds with the natural world, utilizing drawing to investigate topics as austere as US Census data to doom metal inspired teeth people. She is compelled by the interplay of gravitas and humor, human instincts versus institutions, and anxious visions of dystopia.

Lin has presented at numerous venues, including Curve Line Space, Junior High, Nook Gallery, Richmond Art Center, Stanford University (CA); Halcyon Arts (DC); Walters Art Museum (MD); Marjorie Barrick Museum of Art, Goldwell Open Air Museum, Holland Project (NV); CUSP Gallery, Drawing Center, Knockdown Center, and Wassaic Project (NY); and Asian Arts Initiative, Little Berlin (PA). Her illustrations have been featured in projects by 11:11 Press, Children's Discovery Museum of San Jose, Wildsam, and Zoom Video Communications. Lin is the recipient of numerous awards and fellowships, including a major grant from Nevada Humanities/National Endowment for the Humanities and Nevada Arts Council/National Endowment for the Arts. From 2019 – 2023, Lin served as a Visiting Assistant Professor at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas.

Lin holds a MFA from the Maryland Institute College of Art in Illustration Practice and a BA in Gender & Women's Studies and Psychology from the University of California, Berkeley.
