FAFSA on-line

The initial step to getting federal aid is by filling out the form online.

FSA ID

You and your parents will need a FSA ID in order to log into any of the goverment websites.

National Student Data Services (NSLDS)

NSLDS is a government site about your individual federal loans.  Indicates exactly how much you have borrowed so far and with which lender.  You will need your pin to access your information.

Direct Loan Entrance Counseling

This is mandatory for your Direct Loans to be disbursed to the school.

Free Annual Credit Check

Get your free credit report yearly from this site from all three credit bureaus Experian, Equifax and Transunion.

Selective Service

All males above the age of 18 must be registered with the selective service before aid is released to the student account.  Keep a copy of your registration since this is your only proof.

California Student Aid Commission

Students can look up not only the current information about the California State Grants but also income limits and aid eligibility.

Income Based Repayment Website

A site with up-to-date information regarding repayment of Federal Student Loans and the Income Based Repayment program.  Information about Loan Forgiveness is also on the site.

Internal Revenue Services

Students wishing to know more about tax benefits for going to school can look at the publication on Educational Benefits on the IRS site.  Students can also find the instructions and forms for the 1040EZ.
