Emergency & After Hours Instructions

Emergencies (Medical or Psychiatric) when the Student Health and Wellness Center (SHWC) is OPEN:

The Student Health and Wellness Center is NOT an emergency room and the staff are NOT first responders. If an emergency occurs, call 911 and then notify Campus Safety and Security at (310) 665-6965. By calling 911, first responders will provide the most prompt response to an emergency. They will triage the patient and, if needed, call Los Angeles paramedics.

Campus Safety and Security will also assess the situation. If Campus Safety and Security determines that the SHWC needs to be involved, they will transport the patient to the SHWC or contact the SHWC directly. For liability purposes, the SHWC is not equipped to proivde care outside of the Clinic (Ahmanson 107) and Counseling Room (Ahmanson B05). No medical or psychiatric care will be administered outside of the clinic or counseling center.
