jbingham@otis.edu | 310.665.6966

Julia Bingham

Julia is a career services professional, previously holding positions at Berklee College of Music in Boston, and University of California, Irvine, as well as also having worked as a career consultant. She received her Master of Education from Northeastern University.

A native of New England, Julia grew up in Peterborough, NH, where her parents owned an art supply store. Her undergraduate studies in performing arts at University of New Hampshire included costume design, set construction, and theatre management. Entrepreneurial pursuits led her to start businesses and share her experience in developing business plans, budget forecasting, growth strategy, marketing, licensure, zoning, and taxes.

At Berklee College of Music, Julia led employer relations, internships, student employment, and advising. She developed customized job resources for students with disabilities and the LGBT+ community, initiated collaborative programming with Alumni Affairs, and started Career Jam, Berklee’s version of a career fair, which grew from 200 to 1,000 student and alumni attendees.

At UC Irvine, Julia launched career services for professional programs. She created the ProSeminar course, built relationships with employers for capstone projects and site visits, implemented Alternative Digital Credential (ADC) badges, and executed a Career Challenge along with video tutorials to motivate students during the pandemic.

Her personal tenets for career success focus on a persistent and organized approach to communicating transferable skills and networking. With an understanding of the unique needs of artists and designers, as well as a practical approach to employment, Julia leads Career Services in inspiring students and alumni to take the important next steps in their professional development.

Having been to over 50 countries across 5 continents, Julia enjoys getting to know people from different backgrounds through cultural immersion and travel. In her free time she likes cycling, beach sunsets, and tabletop games.
