Liberal Arts and Sciences Minors

Art History

The minor in Art History offers students the opportunity to focus on an expanded range of historical and cultural ideas about art and art making. With a guided and structured approach, students use diverse critical methods to explore the cultural creation, meaning, dissemination, and impact of visual images, objects, and practices.

English (Creative Writing)

The Creative Writing Minor offers students the opportunity to give voice and shape to their creativity through a variety of written expressive forms. In a structured environment, with guidance and support, students develop their writing and an exciting way to explore their personal visions through workshops and lectures.

Sustainability

Recognizing the innovative role artists and designers can play in solving pressing challenges, the Sustainability Minor provides students with a broad understanding of the social, political, economic and environmental issues that impact the future of humanity and our planet. Students will study and develop strategies and systems, as applicable to art and design, which can meet the needs of current generations without compromising those of future generations. Courses fulfill requirements in Integrated Learning and Liberal Arts and Sciences, as well as electives across all studio departments.
