International Students

Summer of Art Welcomes International Students Who Currently Have an F-1 Visa*

Students who have an F-1 Visa* are eligible to attend Summer of Art. Students with an F-1 Visa must also submit an I-20 Certificate of Eligibility to be admitted. (Otis College does not issue I-20's for Summer of Art.)

The program is conducted in English only, so international students must have college-ready English language skills.

*Prospective students with other visa types that are eligible to study in academic programs, please contact the Summer of Art office for details on eligibility. (Note: Visitor B-visas are not eligible for academic study due to government regulations)

English Language Competency

If applying from a country where English is not the primary language  your registration must be accompanied by one of the following:

  • A letter on school letterhead from a school official, counselor, or English teacher that affirms college-ready skills in listening, speaking, reading, and writing English (interview with student may be required)

           or

  • Proof of one of the following language competency test scores:
    • TOEFL exam with a score of 79 or above
    • Pearson Test of English with a score of 58 or above
    • iELTS with overall band score of 6.5 or above

College Credit

International students attending for college credit must:

  • Currently reside in the United States
  • Be attending another academic institution under a current student visa
  • Submit proof of attendance from your school on current letterhead, with dates of attendance, and signed by a Designated School Official
  • Submit copies of your passport, F-1 visa and I-20
