Threading Matter is a global land art festival that showcases the four states of matter in their most natural state. With four locations around the world, it’s the first festival of its kind where the main performer is the location itself. This project focuses on branding and identity. I designed the system to be flexible, with the intention of cohesive variation and fluidity. The project's inception was heavily based on the concept of the four states of matter in relation to design, which was intriguing. With the main focus being the relationship between a state of matter and the location (GAS = LIGHTNING, PLASMA = THE NORTHERN LIGHTS), I focused on representing this idea through the concept of "threading." Threading these locations together through color, design, and various explorations.

Benny is driven by a passion for community building & problem solving. As the elected
class marshal of the GD cohort, she prioritizes creating lasting connections among
peers, rooted in support, & shared growth. Her junior year, she launched a collaborative
art magazine pairing artists together to create new work. She has a passion for publication
design, printmaking, & storytelling. She brings that same spirit to clothing brand
Printed Fantasy, which blends narrative design with wearable art.
