Welcome to Environmental Design’s 2025 Annual Exhibition!
This year's exhibition showcases the innovative work of the Environmental Design students,
who will present their projects across four key disciplines: Architecture, Landscape
Architecture, Interior Design, and Furniture Design. The students have engaged in
rigorous investigations addressing social and environmental challenges. Their research
includes the sustainable reuse of existing buildings and industrial landscapes.
The exhibition's key themes include adaptive reuse, climate considerations, and cultural
and environmental contexts.
The graduating seniors are tasked with designing the exhibition each year, ensuring
that every installment is unique. Over the past 25 years, the Environmental Design
program students have designed, fabricated, assembled, and installed 25 distinct design/build
environments for Otis' Annual Exhibition.
The exhibit will feature a variety of media, including line drawings such as plans
and sections, three-dimensional views, models, and diagrams. Visitors can look forward
to exploring designs for parks and gardens, retail spaces and restaurants, adaptive
reuse housing in downtown Los Angeles, and large civic buildings.
We invite you to immerse yourself in the creativity and thought-provoking ideas that
shape our built environment and reflect the commitment of our students to sustainable
and equitable design practices.
