A Message from the Chair

At Otis, Product Design is not only about creating objects but also about shaping experiences with purpose, adaptability, and impact. Our students graduate with the skills and mindset to design across multiple industries, bringing thoughtful, innovative, and sustainable solutions to the world.

This exhibition celebrates the diversity of meaningful projects created by our students. From wearables to transportation, camping gear to pet products, consumer electronics to personal display systems, furniture to footwear, and lighting to personal expression, our students tackle a vast range of design challenges. Each project progresses through four key design phases: discover, define, develop, and deliver.

The Product Design program encourages students to explore connections across disciplines; refining their skills and understanding of context allows them to design experiences rather than just products. They learn to define, navigate, and innovate within constraints, using technical expertise, empathy, and a sharp awareness of cultural and societal trends.

Students develop fluency in technology, blending traditional craftsmanship with digital tools to transform ideas into tangible solutions. The program promotes individual growth and creative exploration, encouraging students to define their design journey and consider where it might take them next.

This exhibition is a testament to their vision, creativity, and dedication to shaping the future of design. Join us in celebrating our Product Design class of 2025.
