BFA Fashion Design

This is a project I completed in my junior year, focused on deconstructing and redesigning wedding dresses. By taking apart vintage bridal gowns, I gave them a new life through a fresh, contemporary design. The theme of my design is “Clover,” symbolizing luck, renewal, and delicate beauty. Throughout the creation process, I applied a variety of techniques including laser cutting, hand sewing, heat embossing, and beading to craft and highlight the intricate details of the gown.

This project was inspired by D.Va, a character from the video game Overwatch, and focuses on creating a functional activewear design based on her aesthetics and personality. I adopted a monochromatic color palette consistent with her original outfit, while incorporating practical design features tailored to the character’s dynamic and agile traits. The goal of this project was to express a balance between cuteness, sexiness, and athleticism, capturing D.Va’s confident and playful spirit through both form and function.
