SECTION I: Transferable Foundation Studio Courses

Otis College recommends sophomore transfer students match the Foundation Studio Curriculum as closely as possible. However, we generally accept 18 credits of art or design studio courses. Students must show a portfolio that demonstrates they are able to bypass the Foundation Year. Mt. San Jacinto College courses that are an ideal match to Otis College’s first-year Foundation Program are listed in the chart below.

While we recommend taking the studio classes listed above, any of the following courses below will count towards our first-year Foundation Program studio requirements:

Art (ART): 108-170, 519
Design (DES): 123, 151
Digital Media (DIG): 110, 190, 551, 552, 553, 554, 570, 572, 580
Digital Photography (PHOT): 125, 524, 525

SECTION II: Transferable Liberal Arts and Sciences (LAS) Courses

Otis College accepts a total of 24 Liberal Arts and Sciences (LAS) credits. For sophomore level transfer, 12 Credits of Liberal Arts and Sciences courses may include but are not limited to English Literature and Composition, Art History, Social Science, Natural Science and General Electives. Mt. San Jacinto College courses that are an ideal match to Otis College’s first year are highlighted in bold in the chart below. Please note some majors have specific LAS requirements and are noted below.

*Excludes Studio/Performing Arts courses. LAS Sophomore Elective has specific requirements for Fashion, Fine Arts, and Toy Majors.
**Social Science has a major-specific requirement for Otis’ Toy Design Majors and Game and Entertainment Design Majors.
*** Natural Science has a major-specific requirement for Otis’ Fashion, Product, and Toy Design Majors.
**** Math has a major-specific requirement for Otis’ Game and Entertainment Design Majors.
NOTE: If student has completed IGETC, student has catalog rights that would be reviewed in lieu of CalGETC.
