Sabrina Artel

Sabrina Artel is the host of “Trailer Talk,” a live performance, a community event, and a broadcast. She drives her vintage camper to Main Streets, festivals, and events. People step inside, she welcomes them with homemade brownies, and they sit down to talk over the kitchen table. Its goal is to bring attention to important issues where least expected, on the streets and in people’s neighborhoods. At Trailer Talk events, the kitchen table represents the democratic tradition of public dialogue that values the coming together of diverse and often opposing voices to create common ground and inspire social change.

The trailer itself, a 1965 Beeline, is tiny. The kitchen table is large enough to seat “One third of the Nation,” so please come on in and join us for this traveling salon and portal of possibility. Sabrina Artel's Trailer Talk was awarded a Puffin Foundation grant in 2007 and a NYSCA (New York State Council on the Arts) Individual Artist Grant in 2006. She was one of 25 top journalists chosen to participate as a fellows in the sixth National Endowment for the Arts (NEA) Arts Journalism Institute in Theater and Musical Theater at USC Annenberg.
