My artwork is a challenge to the grid. The grid is and has been a ubiquitous idea since Descartes. It influences every facet of modern life from cityscapes, to science, in art and to the mundane. No one questions it. It is as though it were a second skin that is worn atop our own. What I propose with my work is to look and feel beyond the longitude and the latitude; to sense that there is space that is without Cartesian boundaries.
