COURSE DESCRIPTION AND GOALS
Toy Design I is a beginning course in the toy design program, focusing on the design, fabrication and construction of plush toys. By the end of the semester, students will have a thorough understanding of the Toy Design process within the plush category. The course emphasis are focused on on creating and executing new concepts from sketches and renderings to a finished illustrated product line designed by the student. Students will also gain an understanding of product construction methods, materials, market research and market strategies such as line extensions for their concepts. At the end of the course students will present their final project to professionals in the toy industry.
