Hello,

My name is Justin Thai. I'm a LA based multidisciplinary artist focused on motion design and film making . My main creative focus is to translate the notion of identity to alluring visuals.

Let's connect and collaborate!

Collection of my motion design works in the last year in a show reel.

A visual experimental piece inspired by the sequence in the classical Requiem mass. I decided to explore the idea of a woman trapped in her state of mind, suffering her own isolation. All live action footage shot by me on green screen with further design elements and designs created in Cinema4D.

The piece is a collaboration I made with Ailin Yu for her 2019 exhibition. We chose the Chinese fictional character to be the manifesto of her American experience. Following loosely to Journey to the West, we try to replicate Ailin's personal story in an explosive of visuals. I shot all live action footage and provided additional design elements.

"Maniac is a projection mapping project. I created a visual environment in 3D showing a set of sinister buildings, then combined it with live action footage to depict an intense story. In this piece, a girl is trapped in a nightmare that never ends. She is chased by a mystery figure who later turned into a monstrous monster. Desperately navigate through the buildings, should she escape this nightmare?

The project was made for projection mapping, which originally was schedule for my senior show. I used Mad Mapper to project the visual on Styrofoam miniature. Digital visual were made in Cinema4D,  rendered with Octane. Edited in  After Effect."
