Otis College Launches Mandy And Cliff Einstein Visiting Artist Series

In celebration of its Centennial, Otis College of Art and Design will host a series of conversations with world-renowned artists and thinkers, funded through a generous gift from Mandy and Cliff Einstein. The series will provide Otis College students an opportunity to learn and engage directly with major figures in the art world today.

Please join us for the second installment of the Mandy & Cliff Einstein Visiting Artist Series featuring a public lecture by world-renowned curator Zoe Whitley in conversation with Naima J. Keith, newly appointed Vice President of Education and Public Programs at LACMA.

Dr. Zoe Whitley is Curator, International Art at Tate Modern in London, as well as curator attached to the British Pavilion for the 58th Venice Biennale.

Shirin Neshat to Kick Off Summer Programs and Residencies at Otis College

On June 5, 2018, Otis College will partner with the Hammer Museum to present Shirin Neshat’s screening of a film within a film, “Looking for Oum Kulthum,” which depicts the plight of an Iranian woman artist/filmmaker living in exile as she embarks on capturing the life and art of the legendary female singer of the Arab world, Oum Kulthum. 

James Shen Returns to Los Angeles as Otis College’s 2018 Donghia Designer-in-Residence

Creative endeavors can start locally to change the world. That’s one of the messages students can take with them from James Shen, Otis College’s 2018 Donghia Designer-in-Residence. Shen was born and raised in Los Angeles, but his vision for culturally-connective design has taken him to Beijing, China, where he runs People’s Architecture Office.

Höweler + Yoon to Present 2018 Scanlon Lecture on February 21

Otis College’s Architecture/Landscape/Interiors program presents the 2018 George H. Scanlon Foundation Lecture featuring Eric Höweler and J. Meejin Yoon, principals at Höweler + Yoon Architecture. The free, public lecture will be held at the Museum of Contemporary Art in Los Angeles (MOCA) on February 21, 2018.

David and Sybil Yurman to Give Special Presentation on November 7

On November 7, 2017 Otis College of Art and Design will host a rare and special presentation by world renowned designer David Yurman and his wife, Sybil. Together they launched the David Yurman company in 1980 and collaborated to create jewelry that is both a fashion statement and a work of art. The presentation will be held in the college's Forum, from 11:30am-12:30pm. 

Winners Announced for Donghia-Otis Portfolio and Master Class Awards

The Donghia Designer-in-Residency gives students in the Architecture/Landscape/Interiors program at Otis College of Art and Design the opportunity to work under the direction of an international designer at their top of the field.
