Overview
Otis Design lab was hired to create a mobile-first website that turns a furniture showroom into a multimedia experience. As the user walks through the physical space, a digital story about a woman’s evolving sense of style unfolds, incorporating the spaces and furniture pieces into the narrative. The Lab was asked to do the web design, illustration, and copywriting for this project.

Process
This project was huge! One student worked on the writing style and narrative, another researched illustration styles, another created a color palette based on the furniture for each showroom, and another furiously started building the site. The designers learned a lot about teamwork, communication, and time management.
By the end the team was exhausted, but it was worth it to get an email like this from the client:
“A big THANK YOU to the Design Lab team–the pages turned out really amazing, and were very useful to the salespeople. Many enjoyed the story–I had one person actually quote the story back to me as I walked them through the showroom. Others were very impressed with the illustration and animation; and others liked how much information the pages provided. Big kudos to the team for turning around really great work, with a tight deadline.”
